Week of March 23rd - 29th 2020
Fishing has really started to heat up on the Missouri River. This river always seems to amaze me! What a Walleye factory! Fishing the Missouri River has been incredible. Lots of fish in the system. Most fish are coming in the 2ft to 12ft of water. Occasionally you will find them in 20ft plus too! Keep trying new depths, spots, and you will find them. Jigs and minnows has done the trick for us so far....once the water warms we look forward to throwing plastics too!! Good luck!
March 7th & 8th 2020- Saturdayarch 7th was a beautiful afternoon yo spend a fee hours on the Missouri River. Basically this was a shake down trip to run the boat and make sure we are ready for the season. Sure was nice floating on water, running the boat and feeling a Missouri River Walleye smack my jig!!
Sunday March 8th- we made a quick afternoon trip to check the ice conditions on Lake Sakakawea. Still a fair amount but the shorelines were looking pretty tough. Could be an early start on the Big Lake this year too!!
February 12th 2020- Reel Fishing Guides is getting fired up for another awesome open water season fast approaching! We have been doing some occasional ice fishing on Lake Sakakawea with some success. Longer days and warming temps will increase fishing activity .We are looking forward to getting on the Missouri River as soon as we are able!
Memorial weekend. First weekend on Lake Sakakawea. It was nice to get back to the big water. Fishing surprisingly pretty fast for us. We ended with 18 keeper Walleye on Memorial day itself. This was the only day we really fished.
Fish were 2 to 10 ftow, jigs and minnows and rigging were the best. Once you find them stay on them. Slow presentations seemed to be the best. Look forward to the bite increasing this week with water temps increasing. Keep the lines tight!!
May 30th 2020, Fishing Report. Fishing again was spectacular for us on Lake Sakakawea. We had nice fish too, most ran in the 17" to 22" range! Most fish we caught were still in the 5 to 10 ftow. Jigs and minnows seemed to work best in the morning. Lindy rigs fired up after the water warmed up in the afternoon. Get out and enjoy this unbelievable North Dakota fishery!
